Commemoration in Orry-la-Ville!

In accordance with the sanitary measures taken relating to the fight against covid-19 and to our great regret, the annual commemoration at the Dutch honorary cemetery, located in the municipality of Orry-la-Ville will take place again this year in a form very restricted and behind closed doors.

We nevertheless wish to highlight this commemoration and the liberation of the Netherlands, and thus commemorate all the Dutch, who died for our freedom, by presenting this made by drone. These images were taken during the ceremony of May 4 in 2018 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the cemetery of honor.

The annual ceremony is usually organized by the Dutch Embassy in Paris, with the support of the municipality of Orry-la-Ville. It takes place in the presence of local and regional authorities, French veterans, as well as French and Dutch schoolchildren. The military music is played by the Dutch ensemble of the Fanfare Korps Nationale Reserve.

We sincerely hope to be able to carry out the commemoration next year in due form. The cemetery remains outside May 4, open to the public, of course within the limit of the maximum number of authorized visitors in force. A visitor register is available for signature in the portal of honor at the back of the cemetery.
